Came across the launch of Wika Clothing by Philippine rapper, D-coy. One of the shirts has Baybayin with the following characters:
A-Sa-Ti-Ga
A-Na-Ga
Pi-No-Ya
Looks like it’s supposed to say “Astig ang Pinoy” (Pinoys are cool/hard/awesome). If so, it’s incorrect because there are no cancellation kudlits after the Sa, Ga, Ya and the Na-Ga should be the Ng.

It’s a scent inspired by the Manila nightlife. I called it Siya because I wanted it to be for a woman or man. I’ll have a production sample in about a week. Besides Baybayin prominently featured on the bottle, the packaging will be custom artwork hand embellished and individually numbered.

I’ll be presenting Baybayin School tomorrow, Wednesday Oct 26th at 3:30PM at San Francisco State University in the Cesar Chavez Student Center. Be there for a 1 hour lecture on the modern Baybayin movement and workshop after. I’ll also be doing free translations for the attendees.
In Amaya episode 103 (a Philippine fictional historical period drama), the main character (Amaya) teaches the pre-Filipino script. While there’s some room for improvement it’s good to see Baybayin in the mainstream.
Fans of the TV show raved about the episode but will they actually take the effort to learn Baybayin?
My Baybayin School tour continues this Thursday 10/13 at the University of California Berkeley.

Starting this Saturday October 8, WIP will be stocked at Urban Athletics (or uA for short). There are two good reasons why you should make it down to uA this Saturday.
