EVENT: 1st Filipino American International Book Festival

Books, art and music! 3 of my favorite things! The 1st Filipino American International Book Festival is this weekend, Oct 1-2 in between the San Francisco Main Library and the Asian Art Museum. I’ll be signing my book with the Baybayin Burner – Ray Haguisan and our very special guest, the Baybayin font king – Norman de los Santos who will bring copies of Anak Bathala.

Come by for custom artwork and translations. I’ll also be displaying my collection of old Baybayin stamps, money and other goodies.

YouLeaD: Overseas Filipino Youth Leadership Summit

I was recently invited to take part of the 3 day Global Overseas Filipino Youth Leadership Summit happening in the Manila, Philippines.

The 3-day Global summit from September 27-29 at the Philippines International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila, Philippines. This is the gathering of 400 overseas Filipinos from various sectors in discussing how to contribute and create development opportunities in the Philippines or abroad in their respective communities.

I would love to go but unfortunately, I cannot make it this year but I WANT TO SPONSOR SOMEONE TO REPRESENT BAYBAYIN. Don’t worry, you won’t be giving any keynote speeches. I’m looking for someone that’s good at networking. If interested to go to this summit, I will take care of all the registration costs for you, a 2,100PHP value.

1ST PHILIPPINE BAYBAYIN CONFERENCE

Right on the heels of the Ticao Stone conference comes the 1st Philippine Baybayin conference in the Manila area. I know what some of you are thinking – Why are these conferences revolving around unproven Baybayin artifacts? Perhaps it’s need to help market Baybayin to the masses? Besides that, I think it’s an undeniable benefit to have this conference. The dialog has started! Could this be the core group all of you have been asking for who can implement a standard? Last minute Baybayin signing event at the Adobo Festival in Vallejo, California July 10.

I’ll be at the GMA Pinoy TV booth representing the upcoming show Power ng Pinoy launching in September 2011 in GMA Pinoy TV USA. I was recently featured in an episode about my Baybayin work. Check out the trailer on Facebook.

EVENT: Asian Heritage Street Celebration


I’ll be at the Asian Heritage Street Celebration this Saturday 5/21 with Ray of Malaya Designs showing some artwork, translations, and eating some good food. Drop by the booth and say hi. Look for the Katipunan flags. FREE event

The 7th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration will take place on Larkin Street, from Grove Street to Ellis Streets. Landmarks include City Hall, the Asian Art Museum, and the lion pylons setting off Little Saigon at Larkin and Eddy. Fair-goers are encouraged to walk, bicycle or take public transportation.
