The Southern California Pilipinx American Student Alliance is proud to present its 9th annual Summit Conference. Summit is a one-day conference that features a wide variety of speakers, activities and entertainment. It is held at the university campus of one active SCPASA member organization and this year it is Samahang Pilipino at UCLA.

Numerous workshops are held throughout the day to give attendees various opportunities to learn about topics that concern a common theme that is chosen for that year. This year, SCPASA has chosen the theme ‘Illustrate’.

Culture is expressed every day through many different outlets, and it’s through these outlets that we are able to see how culture is created, developed and preserved. Fighting for a better community, sharing stories about adversity, performing in a PACN – culture is always being produced. This year, SCPASA asks you to find your voice and express yourself.

EVENT: Rebuilding Bayanihan: A Special Post Typhoon Event – Los Angeles


LA & SF area artists, will be converging in a special event to support post typhoon rebuilding in the Philippines.

This day long event will be a call to the community – to come together in an intentional spirit and to hold sacred space as a way to heal our bodies, our relationships, our souls, our planet.

This is a family-friendly event and open to all! Vita Coco ( will be providing our elixir and White Rabbit ( will be setting up their food truck in the lot – so come, explore, discover, sing, dance, play, and get some yummy pagkain and coconut water! Admission is free!

EVENT: Southern California FPAC 9/12-9/13

FilAm ARTS traces its roots to the production of the Annual Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture (FPAC) first conceptualized in 1990 as part of the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department’s Festivals Program, an arts program designed to address the multicultural constituency of the city.

Organized by about 100 artists and community leaders, the first FPAC took place at Los Angeles City College on Mother’s Day, May 14, 1992, where 3,000 participants braved the aftermath of the L.A. riots that occurred the week before. Since then, FPAC has only grown stronger and bigger, moving to Cabrillo Beach in 1994, then finally to its current location, Pt. Fermin Park, in the historic district of San Pedro in 2001.
